MacPhail Joins Phillies, Will Be President After Season  —  PHILADELPHIA — Veteran baseball executive Andy MacPhail joined the Philadelphia Phillies on Monday with plans to take over as team president once the season is finished.  —  Philadelphia announced the move to eventually replace Pat Gillick, who helped choose his successor.
