Pirates sign Cuban, Japanese pitchers  —  By Dejan Kovacevic, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette  —  The Pirates have not been known for having an international flavor, but they signed two starting pitchers from uncommon locales today: Yoslan Herrera, a Cuban defector, and Masumi Kuwata, a Japanese national.
