GM meetings produce lots of rumors involving Royals — but only rumors  —  Let's put the disclaimer up front before touching on some of the rumors and chatter circulating this week at the St. Regis Resort as baseball's 30 general managers hold their annual meetings.  —  Most rumors, even when valid, don't lead to anything.

Marlins unveil new park's dimensions  —  Outfield to resemble Dolphin Stadium's; site will be pitcher-friendly … MIAMI — Some of the characteristics of the old stadium will be incorporated into the Marlins' new ballpark.  —  Specifically, the field dimensions.

Pitching top priority, but Mets look at Ibañez  —  DANA POINT, Calif. - The Mets couldn't be more clear about their offseason strategy: They scored 799 runs in 2008, the same number as the Phillies, tying them for second place in the National League.  Their offense isn't the problem.

GM meetings starting to heat up  —  The incongruity is striking.  Baseball GMs are bracing for a financial hit given the turbulent economy while they talk under chandeliers and stand on marble floors.  Anyway....  These meetings are starting to create a buzz, with more interest and trade fits beginning to emerge.

Honeymoons and Divorces  —  Joe Maddon is getting married on Saturday, and he will then head to Europe for his honeymoon.  “We're going to try to see a lot of Europe on foot with backpacks and that kind of stuff, see some old churches and all the other sites, but we'll also stay at some really nice hotels,” Maddon said.
