Is Rich Harden a starter or reliever?  —  At this time last year, Rich Harden was one of the most-talked-about free-agent starting pitchers.  —  One poor season later - a 5.58 ERA in fewer than 100 innings with Texas - it's not clear whether Harden's future is in the rotation or bullpen.

Wigginton won't return to O's, agrees to terms with Colorado Rockies  —  Infielder Ty Wigginton, the Orioles' lone All-Star last season, will not be returning to Baltimore.  He has agreed to terms with the Colorado Rockies on a two-year deal worth $7.5 million.  The deal includes a club option for 2013.

Jim Tracy of Colorado Rockies collapsed due to mild arrhythmia  —  LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. — The Colorado Rockies say manager Jim Tracy has been released from a hospital after mild arrhythmia caused him to collapse at the baseball winter meetings.  —  Tracy  —  Tracy was headed back to his home near Bradenton on Tuesday afternoon.

Defending the Jayson Werth Deal  —  Yesterday, I learned that there are two crazy people in the world, Washington Nationals GM Mike Rizzo and me.  Rizzo signed Jayson Werth to a seven-year, $126 million contract, and I stated that Werth was projected to be worth $127 million in terms of revenue generation over this time period.

Dodgers, Padilla close on new contract  —  LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. — The Dodgers, despite already having five established starting pitchers, are close to a contract agreement with 2010 Opening Day starter Vicente Padilla, according to multiple baseball sources.
