Grand ole winter meetings preview  —  Who's on the move?  Who's going to sign where — and for how much?  —  I got quite the cheery email the other day from the always-ecstatic folks at Opryland, the sprawling hotel/resort/winter wonderland that will host this year's baseball winter meetings.

Suzuki's agent talking ‘with multiple clubs’  —  Ichiro Suzuki's willingness to wait on the Yankees has declined to the point where the veteran outfielder is talking to other teams.  —  “At the beginning we talked a lot but since that time, zero,” agent Tony Attanasio said of discussions with the Yankees.

Sources: Cubs sign Japanese closer  —  The Chicago Cubs landed a new closer on Saturday, signing Japanese free-agent right-hander Kyuji Fujikawa to a two-year, $9.5 million contract, according to major-league sources.  —  Fujikawa, 32, agreed to a two-year contract with a vesting option for a third season, sources said.
