Red Sox agree to deal with pitcher David Price  —  The Red Sox are taking no shortcuts with their rotation this time.  According to a source briefed on the negotiations, they agreed on Tuesday on a seven-year, $217 million contract with lefthander David Price.

Over the weekend, Officer Pittaluga encountered a large deer while driving on Decoursey Pike through Visalia.  The encounter was less than cordial and ended as abruptly as it began.  We think this video is a pretty good training video on how to react when a four-legged furry friend attempts to abruptly cross your path.

Mariners To Sign Nori Aoki  —  The Mariners have reached agreement on a one-year deal with free agent outfielder Nori Aoki, Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com reports (Twitter links).  Seattle also picks up an option year over Aoki, who is a client of CAA Sports.  —  Aoki has spent four years in the majors after coming over from Japan.

Twins Sign Byung-Ho Park  —  The Twins have officially struck a four-year, $12MM deal with Korean first baseman Byung-ho Park that includes a $6.5MM club option ($500K buyout) for the 2020 campaign.  Minnesota will pay Park $2.75MM annually for the deal's first two seasons and then $3MM apiece in 2018 and 2019.
