Braves' Brian Snitker honored as NL's top manager  —  Brian Snitker was selected as National League Manager of the Year, marking the fourth time a Braves manager has been honored.  Hall of Famer Bobby Cox won the award in 1991, 2004 and 2005 (and also in 1985 in the AL with the Blue Jays).

Angels' two-way star Shohei Ohtani wins AL Jackie Robinson Rookie of the Year  —  Shohei Ohtani is the third Angels player to win the American League Jackie Robinson Rookie of the Year Award.  The others were Tim Salmon in 1993 and Mike Trout in 2012.  —  Ohtani pitched in 10 games and was a designated hitter in 82 games.
