I Will Pitch in the Playoffs  —  You've heard about the 180-185 innings cap.  That seems to be the number that will allow me to pitch into the postseason.  Regardless of those numbers, I hope everyone knows: I have always wanted to play.  I have always wanted to pitch every single chance I get.

Simon Pitches 7 Strong Innings as Tigers Beat Indians 6-0  —  DETROIT — Alfredo Simon pitched seven strong innings and J.D. Martinez hit his 35th home run as the slumping Detroit Tigers beat the Cleveland Indians 6-0 Saturday night.  —  Detroit had lost seven of its previous eight games and was outscored 71-21 in that stretch.

Harper Homers, Gonzalez Shines as Nationals Beat Braves 8-2  —  WASHINGTON — Bryce Harper had three hits, including his 33rd home run, and Gio Gonzalez tossed six scoreless innings as the surging Washington Nationals defeated the Atlanta Braves 8-2 Saturday night for their fourth straight win.

Adam Eaton Helps White Sox Beat Royals 7-5  —  KANSAS CITY, Mo. — (AP) — Adam Eaton homered and scored three times, and the Chicago White Sox beat the Kansas City Royals 7-5 on Sunday for their fourth straight win.  —  Eaton collected three more hits and is batting .517 (15 for 29) in his last seven games.

Ortiz Hits Career Homer No. 497; Red Sox Beat Phillies 6-2  —  BOSTON — David Ortiz hit his 497th career home run to get Boston's offense started, and Eduardo Rodriguez pitched seven solid innings as the Red Sox completed a three-game sweep of the Philadelphia Phillies, 6-2 on Sunday.
